    The Italian Job (2003)

Synopsis: A group of professional thieves, led by career criminal Charlie Croker, plan on stealing $20 million in gold, by creating the largest traffic jam in Los Angeles' history. As the robbers snatch the gold, secured in a safe that they're stealing back from Croker's double-crossing ex-partner--who first stole it from Croker--their plan involves rigging all the city's stoplights. While everyone else, including the police, will be caught in traffic, they can get away in their "souped-up" BMW Mini Coopers, which are small enough to drive on sidewalks, and in the subway system--perfect to make a clean get away before the traffic jam clears. At least, that's what they plan.

This movie has a feel of the old dramas with cool car chases, and it doesn't hurt that it has a good cast. Not too crazy about Marky Mark's acting, but I like Ed Norton, Donald Sutherland, and Charlize Theron. I'll probably go check it out in a couple of weeks.

Great cast, good plot, I'll definitely rent it if we don't see it in theaters.

Jason Statham is beyond cool and, in theory, worth the price of admission/rental alone.

    (From The Transporter)

The guy who directed this also did Friday, Ice Cube's finest acting performance (better IMHO than his in Boyz N Da Hood).

I always get pumped for heist movies (e.g., Ocean's Eleven, Heat) but Seth Green makes this a bit dodgy.

    Edward Norton! I'm watching!

And why is he called 'Charlie's Crooked Partner'? No name at all?

It sounds like this is a dramatic movie with funny scenes. Sounds like my kind of movie.

This is a great movie. It was pretty funny, and I really enjoyed the whole movie. It was a lot more light-hearted than I thought it would be.

We just saw this movie tonight. It wasn't the best heist movie I've ever seen, but it was decent. I felt I got my money's worth.

The first half was better, IMO, than the second half.
