I liked this book better than the Twilight series and I heard that there will be a sequel.

The book is pretty good, once you get about half way through it

I have to say though, the main character is not AT ALL what I pictured, but looks like they did a good job with the eyes.

Still interested in seeing how they do this, I think this would be a hard film to make.

So much of this book in what goes on in Wanda's head and that is always very difficult to take from a book to a film. You would think a visual medium like film would make it easy but it is not. If they can do it, it will be very interesting to see.

An example of a total failure of translating a book to film is Jean Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear which is largely narrative and largely living in the head of the two main female characters. The film staring Daryl Hannah was an abysmal failure.

With all the fantasy movies they are making now the directors are getting smarter and smarter how they handle the visuals and other little obstacles to presenting a written story in a visual medium to the audience.

I'm pretty impressed with the cast, esp. for a book that stunk! (Yes, the ending was good but you had to get through 2/3 of it to get there.) Also, I felt it was kind of open-ended with no real resolution. I wonder if this mean she's writing a sequel that will wrap it all up?

    S. Meyer said in an interview with Time that she always intended for The Host to be a trilogy.
