I hope it is a good flick! Seems like the majority of the movies being released lately are pretty bad lol. My son has read all three books and I just started on the first one today. I am going to try to get it done before we go see the movie this weekend. He's really looking forward to it that's for sure.

Got 3 stars (max) where I am despite a few critiques that it had been somewhat watered down. They do warn--not great for the under 12's--a lot of violence to kids.

    Re: The Hunger Games

I have not read the books, but am quite familiar with the content.

Surprisingly, this movie gets a PG - 13 and the documentary, Bully, got an R rating.
The books and the movie contain a lot of violence. It's sad that a ducumentary about bullying has to get an R rating. THat will mean kids won't be able to see it.

Why oh why do they ruin movies with that stupid shaky hand technique. Why don't they just tell the audience to imagine it instead.

REMEMBER take a barf bag everyone.

I am not a fan of shaky cam either, but if it is used sparingly I'm hoping it will still be okay. I'm thinking Super 8 usage rather than Cloverfield or Transformers.

Yes, hopefully it is sparingly used.
Going to see the movie this weekend. Excited. Kind of funny how the movie has become such a big spectacle (heavy press including special magazines, tchotckes to buy etc), reminiscent of the brouhaha surrounding the actual Hunger Games in the books.

I saw something online somewhere that said "If I'm excited for The Hunger Games, does that mean I'm from the Capitol?" which completely cracked me up, because I am (cautiously) dorkishly excited about the movie.
