They need to start this show earlier. Or I have to move to California. Either/or.

Best Actor up next. I'm not loving that jewelry with that dress, Natalie.

LOVED Demian in A Better Life. He just broke my heart even watching that clip.

You know, she memorizes massive amounts of dialogue. Maybe she could have memorized these little speeches. She's not so smooth at using the teleprompter.

I've seen all of these performances and I'd be happy if any of them won. Okay, maybe not Brad Pitt, but the other four. I just didn't think his performance was up to the level of the others. He was very good, but not great, imo.

    The Oscar goes to Jean!

He should just go up and not say anything.

Is The Artist out on DVD/demand yet?

It wasn't a lock for George afterall (even though he wanted it bad!). Jean wins after creeping up with a series of wins prior to tonight's big one.

Clooney would have given a great speech though. He's a heck of a charmer (not saying that the actual winner did not give a good speech, note) .

Oh, I'm perfectly happy to listen to him speak! I think he's dreamy and terribly charming.

I don't think it's out on DVD yet - it's still in theaters here. You can probably find it online if you know where to look I think it is one of those films that is better on the big screen. There's something about seeing a silent film in a theater that is really special. I think that, after tonight, it'll go into wider release.

Meryl Streep's nomination was worth it just for the Firth Mamma Mia bit.

Colin Firth did a much, much better job of presenting the nominees.

Oh, agreed. He gives great speech!

Colin Firth! Can he just stand there for a while and talk? As it turns out, he CAN! If there isn't a Clooney speech, I'm glad we have Colin up there to be charming and adorable.

Best Actress goes to.....(if Rooney Mara wins, I will be so happy, but it won't happen...)... Meryl Streep! I got it right on my ballot!
