    "The King's Speech"

Outstanding. If Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush don't win Academy Awards, it will be a travesty.

If you're a Harry Potter fan, you'll see lots of familiar faces. One HP actor, though, I would never have picked out in King's Speech.

Absolutely fabulous film. Four stars. A+. A bit of swearing. smart, intelligent and funny.

The bolded part can be a real turnoff for my enjoyment of a movie. But this was uniquely integral to the film, and we weren't offended at all.

    Glad you enjoyed the movie!!!

Normally, I think there is too much swearing in films and it is included for the shock factor and not really necessary but I totally agree with you that it was an integral part of the film.

I also liked the small personal insights you get into how Bertie was raised and some of it to my mind was bordering on child abuse and neglect. I absolutely detested Edward/David
especially when he brutally attacked Bertie at Wallace's party. That was just evil.

The above blank out is bit of a plot point and I didn't want to spoil the movie for anyone.

I agreed with the point you made in your spoiler.

I've read often about the "heir and a spare" mentality of the monarchy, but they sure made it clear the the "spare" was not regarded with much kindness in this case. Even his father was cruel to him about the stammering.

I just saw this movie, it is spectacular! What a story of friendship and perserverance. C. Firth and G. Rush must receive the Oscar, they are superb!
