So would it be a good Christmas movie if the group was all adults and no kids? Looks very much like a psychological thriller???Originally Posted by cantstopwatchin;4129302;

Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage.
No kids! It's a psychological thriller all centered around Natalie's character but it's an indie film and some of the shots feel that way (not in a bad way, just an indie film way). If you're looking for a warm and fuzzy holiday movie, this isn't it. But if you're looking for something different then it's perfect.Originally Posted by Bearcata;4129440;

I really want to see this one. I'm going to see if I can sneak away by myself over my vacation and check it out!!
I saw both of his last 2 films - Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler. I enjoyed them both. Have to say, though, that they're not mainstream movies. I love movies like them which get you to thinking and talking.
I can't wait to see Black Swan. I think Natalie Portman is one of our most underrated actors today. She is just phemonenal, IMO.

This movie blew me away. It is certainly not for everyone, though. Very powerful and haunting.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

Holy crap, this film was fantastic! Like cantstopwatchin said, it took me a little time to digest the whole premise of the movie... actually, I still can't stop thinking about it right now.But that's just a sign of a great movie.
If Natalie Portman doesn't win the Oscar, then I don't know who should.
Survivor - Christina | The Amazing Race - Dave/Rachel | American Idol - Hollie, DeAndre | Celebrity Apprentice - Aubrey | The Voice - Chris, Juliet
I completely agree, CrossingGuard. I've always loved her in movies but she hit this one out of the ballpark with all the different facets to her character... I'll be pulling for her at the Golden Globes and the Oscars.Originally Posted by CrossingGuard;4131803;

Definitely no kids... I was uncomfortable watching it with my college age daughter. A lot of sexual content with the most explicit being girl-on-girl. If you're not a big fan of ballet, you may not like it. I thought it was disturbing. But definitely better than the usual Hollywood shill.
Count your blessings!
just came back from it....
I liked it, I thought the first half was better than the second, I think it got a little too confusing at the end. I dragged my hubby but I think he enjoyed Mila Kunis
some people in my theater didn't care for it, we heard the comment it was a waste of a good movie, not everyone's cup of tea
