Hell on Heels: The Battle of Mary Kay
    120 min.
Shirley MacLaine is a delight in this 2002 TV-drama based on the war between cosmetics queen Mary Kay Ash and rival Jinger Heath (Parker Posey).

“[Ash] is maybe my favorite character now...right up there with Aurora Greenway in 'Terms of Endearment',” says MacLaine, who enjoyed the role because she loves playing people “who are at times contradictory.” She was drawn to the complexity of Ash, who created both a beauty empire and a business opportunity for women. The film begins as Mary Kay is being profiled by a cynical reporter (Rachel Crawford), who changes her story's focus when she learns about BeautiControl, an emerging cosmetics company led by Heath, who's out to face down the competition. Lexy: Shannen Doherty.

Cast: Shirley MacLaine, Parker Posey, Shannen Doherty, R.H. Thomson, Barry Flatman, Rachel Crawford, Dean Monroe McKenzie, Marnie McPhail, Maggie Butterfield
    Rating: TV-PG
    Category: Movie, Comedy-drama
    Director: Ed Gernon
    Release Year: 2002

Was it any good, or did it (as I expect it did) suck?

I saw Shirley MacLaine talking about it in The View and even that annoyed me so I knew I would never make it through the movie itself.

    oh look! here i am!
just heading back over to check out this forum and voila'! this thread is back on the top!

    what on earth for.
    good question.

because i am a sick, sad person.

no really, it did suck. terribly. one of the worst shows i've ever seen... shannen doherty was terrible. she was like watching a middle school play.

but... i have a weird "celeb crush" on parker posey. if she is in something, it's like i HAVE to watch.

Hey, I watched it too. I moved to Dallas in the early 80s, so it was some sick kind of nostalgia for me.

so yeah... eden that's it! i'm a dallas girl myself, so maybe since we're in the thick of things, we felt more compelled to watch than say, those NOT living in dallas!

or i'm just a sick sad person with a parker posey disorder!
