"Rat Race" Showtime 8pm ET

I thought this was a pretty funny (though silly) movie, and thought if y'all were bored and not watching Sopranos or Alias, you might want to catch it.

Rat Race
112 min.
A motley group of high rollers races for $2 million in this wild ensemble comedy from director Jerry Zucker (“Airplane!”).
Reminiscent of 1963's “It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” the film opens with a Las Vegas casino bigwig (John Cleese) randomly selecting six people to hunt for the jackpot, which is hidden in New Mexico. Among the participants: an Italian narcoleptic (Rowan Atkinson), a gambler (Jon Lovitz), a bighearted mom (Whoopi Goldberg) and a guy (Cuba Gooding Jr.) sharing a bus with a bevy of Lucille Ball lookalikes. The 2001 film is rated PG-13 for brief nudity, sexual situations and strong language. Duane Cody: Seth Green.

Cast: John Cleese, Rowan Atkinson, Breckin Meyer, Jon Lovitz, Cuba Gooding Jr., Whoopi Goldberg, Seth Green, Kathy Najimy, Amy Smart, Dean Cain, Jenica Bergere, Carrie Diamond, Douglas Haase, Chris Myers, Kevin Frazier
Rating: PG-13
Content: Strong Language, Brief Nudity, Sexual Situations
Category: Movie, Comedy
Director: Jerry Zucker
Release Year: 2001

We actually own the DVD, and y'all are right...It's pretty silly, but it's good for some good laughs...

I loved this movie. I watched it with a friend, and we laughed ourselves silly. Then I showed it to my wife and snickered away while she mostly just sat there.

Paulie, I can just laugh thinking about that scene at the very beginning where they're all running down the stairs of the hotel...Whoopi comes around the corner of the stairwell, and, well...it just cracks me up...

Yeah, Lobeck! That scene's funny. My favorite line of the movie: "That can't be good."

And the high rollers. OMG, they killed me!

Nah, my favorite part of the movie (and the part where my wife and I were laughing so hard, our bellies hurt) is the whole slow-motion monster-truck scene.

Yeah, that was pretty good, too, John. That movie just cracked me up. Mr. Bean's arrival in the room was pretty great, too. "A coin-nuh! A coin-nuh!"

I sound like an idiotic broken record. "And this part was pretty good, too. And this part was pretty great, too. And this part was pretty outstanding, too."
