Re: Fifty Actors We'd See in Anything

My list would be:
Johnny Depp
Orlando Bloom
Christian Bale
Jim Carrey
Kiera Knightly
Robin Williams
Nathan Lane
Samuel L. Jackson
Those are the only actors that I really like that much that I would go and see them in any movie they made. (no skin flicks for Carrey, Williams, Lane or Jackson. That would just be gross)

Re: Fifty Actors We'd See in Anything

Some of the names on your list, Florimel, are some of my very favourite, but not to see whatever they were in. Perhaps because the names I picked from the original list tend to do movies that are more to my particular liking. However, I am always happy to see:

Tom Wilkinson
Victor Garber
Alan Arkin
Laurence Fishburne

And I will add Toni Collette and Brendan Fraser to my must-see list, regardless of some of the hideous things Mr. Fraser has done over the years.

ETA: Jason Bateman. Can't believe I forgot Jason Bateman. I've been a fan since 1984 - how can I have forgotten him.

Re: Fifty Actors We'd See in Anything

You know what has struck me as I look at hte list, and the people I'd really agree with on it is how many more women are on the list in my mind than men. They say there are no good roles for women, but when I think of the people who can do no wrong in my book, and also morph into a variety of characters / genres, it's many many more women. The initial list I came up with had more women on it. As I've been thinking about it since then, there are several women such as Joan Allen, Glenn Close and France McDormand that I'd add, as well as women like Alison Janney who are on the list who upon second thought I'd include. Interesting that at least in my mind, so many more women are that much more versatile than the men.

He was the "hero" in the movie that "won" the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Penelope Cruz, although he was so much better looking in it you might not have recognized him. I can never remember the name of it... VIcky...something... Barcelona...?

I have exactly zero must-see stars on my list.

Apparently we have the same list Newf! I looked through the list and there were a lot that I am likely to see, but I think they all have movies that I have not seen because the story did not appeal to me. For ex, I really like Johnny Depp but I know for a fact that he has done several movies that I have never bothered to watch, and a few that I watched but could have lived without (Secret Window, From Hell)!!

I usually consider myself pretty up-to-date on the actors I am watching in movies, but I have to admit there are a number of names in that list that I would have to look up to figure out who they are and what I might have seen them in...
