Best TV Movies

Whenever I channel surf on the weekend I always end up watching made-for-TV movies, and almost always on ABC Family channel... there is nothing better on a lazy Sunday. So, to answer my own question, I think they have the best TV movies, and the best they've done is the AU PAIR movies, which is particularly awesome since they are coming out with a third one this March.

Any other fans? What's your favorite?

Re: Best TV Movies

I've never seen the Au Pair movies, but I do enjoy ABC Family.

I normally find myself being a girly girl and getting sucked into the Lifetime movies with sordid stories of girl power. That, or you are always guaranteed to find a great 80s movie on TNT or TBS. I love watching Sixteen Candles, and Grease.. or anything. What a Girl Wants with Colin Firth and Amanda Bynes is another that I've watched no less than 30 times.

And now that I've rambled I realize that I went off tangent and left the "made for tv" topic, but....

Best made for tv movie ever? Evil Roy Slade. Followed closely by the third segment of Trilogy of Terror.

What a fun topic. Gosh, I don't know about the best made for TV movies, but my friend and I always joke about "Gosh, how many times have we watched "15 and pregnant" " That seems to be a made for TV staple.

I mourn the passing of the mini-series - Roots, The Thorn Birds, Winds of War, and my favourite, Pride and Prejudice. Oh, and Lonesome Dove. (Lonesome Dove, btw, is a fantastic novel - I'm not a fan of westerns as a rule but I found I couldn't put it down.)

i think my all time fave is "too young to die" with brad pitt and juliette lewis ... it's based on a true story and very well acted.

Oh my mom loved The Thorn Birds and most of my childhood, anytime it was shown on tv we would watch it. Inevitably, the love passed onto me. I haven't seen it in years, hmmm, maybe I should see if it's available through Blockbuster Online?

Re: Best TV Movies

My favorite movie from ABC Family was from back in the mid-90s, Night of the Twisters with Devon Sawa. It was based off of a book of a true story which was written by the main character. Celeste in the City and Picking Up and Dropping Off were favorites too. One of the first tv movies I really remember watching and although I couldn't say I enjoyed it was a Candace Cameron/Fred Savage movie about abusive relationships called "No One Would Tell." That movie had me in chills when I watched it at 16 and really cemented the belief that I would never put up with an abusive relationship.

Re: Best TV Movies

My favorite made for TV movie is The Temptations, hands down. I watch it whenever it comes on VH1.
