ugh, I hate that 2 movie are rolling down everyone in their path in categories that I think other films were better i.e. the Sound and visual effects categories. In the music categories, I thought Slumdog was good, but definitely getting a boost that the other films don't have.
I enjoyed the performances, but none of the songs felt memorable.

Japan's Departures wins for Best Foreign Film.
Love the speech."I'm very, very happy!"

That's because they make the horrible choice to mash the three good songs together into a mediocre and rushed medley.Originally Posted by norealityhere;3341780;
OMG - Just tuned in! No t.v. & did they announce the "Leading Actor" role yet?
Queen Latifah singing during the memoriam is completely superfluous. I love her but this just doesn't fit. And they didn't even think about muting the clapping. Ugh!

So which 5 past best actors and which 5 past best actresses would everyone like to see present tonight?
I saw Adrien Brody in the crowd, so I'm thinking he'll be one of them. I'm reading that Sophia Loren was on the carpet tonight. And it would be awesome to see Julie Andrews speak for Anne with their Princess Diaries connection.
Here's Queen Latifah () singing for those who have passed. I always enjoy this segment since it honors those who are not with us anymore.

Has "Leading Best Actor" been announced yet? Hope I didn't miss it.
I believe Best Actress will be next, then Best Actor and then Best FilmOriginally Posted by beesknees;3341809;
