I have no idea how I missed this yesterday, but it was with regret that I learned Mr. Heston had passed away. His movies gave much pleasure to many people and gave me good reminders of life events, especially Planet of the Apes. mr. gracie and I went to see it at the drive-in for our first date.

Not to crap on a man when he's dead, but I didn't find him to be that great of an actor. He made a lot of memorable movies, and his roles were memorable, but he's kind of the overacting William Shatner of classic movies. If anything, it's entertaining to watch how much he overacted in some of his movies.

Nevertheless, he deserves respect for his impact on American cinema, which is unquestionable.
