| Re: 2008 Academy Award Nominations I loved the SNL skit with the milkshake drinking last night. I may now have to see "There will be blood" despite my aversion to DDL.

OMG, was anyone watching E! earlier tonight? Gary Busey totally accosted Jennifer Garner while she was talking to Ryan. My mom and I were trying to figure if Gary was high or drunk, lol!!! | |

| Re: 2008 Academy Award Nominations I didn't remember him saying that she was his niece, so I was wondering, too. I do know that her name is Sydney. ![]() Gary Busey is a well known alcoholic, so I would imagine he was drunk. That was horrid, but I still got a giggle out of Jennifer's reaction. Ryan went on to ask her a question about Ben Affleck and she was like "Oh, you're not going to ask me about that man that just attacked my neck? Yeah, where IS Ben?" She was completely thrown for a loop. Ryan absolutely sucked last night. His questions were worse than Star Jones, without the lovey dovey gushing to go with it. His deadpan questioning of Jessica Alba "are you going to breast feed?" was shockingly inappropriate on the red carpet and in no way similar to Ellen laughingly asking that of Christina Aguilera on a talk show. It would be nice if Jennifer Hudson could one day learn to speak English. Had she not mangled her introductory verbiage I would forgive her for being unable to pronounce Javier Bardem's name. But surprisingly, she did better on "Javier Bardem" than she did on anything that preceeded it, which still isn't saying much. Jon Stewart had some cute one-liners. I giggled at his Cate Blanchett comments towards the end... and his remarks about Tom Hanks... everything in that kind of style. And finding a giggle in this show is rare so it was welcomed. |

| Re: 2008 Academy Award Nominations I have not read this whole thread, but I just have to rant on a comment I heard during the "red carpet" coverage. Joey Fatone (who normally seems like a nice guy) made a comment when they showed a shot of Anne Hathaway that she "needs a tan". WTH!?!? She is a gorgeous woman!! Was he just looking for something negative to say?? I myself am a woman with dark hair and pale skin, so I know that there are people out there who just do not tan easily - and on top of that they may actually choose to wear sunscreen because they do not want to age prematurely or end up with skin cancer!! I think Anne Hathaway is one of the minority of actresses who (so far) is sticking with her natural beauty - more power to her!! ...I think I'm done now... ![]() |
