Re: 2008 Academy Award Nominations

I'm hoping that "Falling Slowly" wins for original song. I really liked the movie "Once" and the songs from it.

Re: 2008 Academy Award Nominations

Disney looks like a real bunch of punk asses when at least one song from actual singer-songwriters can be put up there against them.

How drunk is Jack this time?

Wow, The Bourne Ultimatum may end up being the biggest winner of the night, just for its technical awards.

Real music got passed up this year in favor of this crap. Any song from "Into the wild" would have wiped the floor with these fluff pieces, but none got nominated.

At least we got spared from a Randy Newman song this year.

Re: 2008 Academy Award Nominations

According to IMDB, the movie "Once"--the last song performance--was out in '06. No wonder I hadn't heard of it, but it was the best song so far. But then, I really hate the performances of the best song nominees. Just drags out the show too much.

As for Nicholson, it'd be a red-letter day if he turned up to an awards show and didn't sport the idiotic sunglasses.

AMEN to that! I hate Randy Newman so much, I have to fastforward through Monk's opening credits when I watch that show.

I think Nicole has been botoxed to within an inch of her life...her face used to be so beautiful...now it just looks plastic!

Aren't they in the "Get Smart" movie? She plays Agent 99 and he plays Maxwell Smart...I thought Jennifer Garner looked gorgeous!
