No, the movie had other working titles during production such as "Cheese", "Slusho", "Chocolate Outrage" and "Clover." Matt Reeves did an interview, where he mentioned that before "Cloverfield" had a real title released, they were shooting the film in New York as "Cheese" but insiders had already found out!
