Personally I found it boring. Yes, after all the hype I was expecting a certain amount of "WOW-ness" . Nil ... However, one scene I found very powerful, the part when he is in his Lab with Sam after the fight with the Mutants (and Mutant Dogs). Very Sad, very well played scene from Will.

I didn't care for this movie. It kind of dragged and left so many unanswered questions that I had at the end. I would recommend waiting for it to hit DVD. Will Smith did an alright job but it was a typical Will Smith role and nothing special.

I have asked several ushers at several movie theatres how the movie was. The people I talked to were all fans of the original novella and basically all said that the writers butched the original story.

I haven't read the book, but as a movie it was okay. I think the first part of the movie where it is just Will Smith and his dog is the best. But it starts to fall apart after it turns zombie flick in the second half.

I loved the movie and would see it again.

    I'll be buying the dvd.

There was a pretty good HBO special about the making of the movie.

My daughter took me out for my birthday for the day and the movie was the end of the night and I didn't think I'd be up for it - was very tired. The theater we went to was mobbed (which I hate)
    Really annoying and loud.

My daughter and I both just got lost in this film.

We are still talking about it and that was a couple days after Christmas.

Anyone else think Tom Hanks and the ball in Cast Away?

The dog was clever as the ball was just a joke to people

    I'd give it an A+

    Will's performance was amazing.

    Loved it!!

I went to see this knowing nothing about the movie. I hate spoilers for movies and I avoid this forum entirely.

It was really hard-hitting if you only have a vague idea what it's going to be about.

Regarding what Krom put in spoiler tags,
I had a sense they were leading up to something like that because that one guy seemed like a "leader" - but then they didn't go anywhere with it, and I swear he shot him, yet it was him at the end - whatever!

There was one scene where I thought to myself, "I've seen Will Smith do this exact scene in every movie." The slow, shocked shuffle where he can't believe what he's seeing.

But I got my ticket price's worth. There were some genuinely creepy moments.
The dog running in the dark building. The booby trap. The mannequins - all the mannequins, every time. Sheesh.
I was actually thinking about leaving the theater at one point, but I was with friends and peer pressure kept me in my seat. This movie got to me - am I the only one?

    Spoilers about the ending:
The ending ticked me off. I understand that he "had" to die or the freaking title of the movie would be meaningless but they made it seem like he could have tossed the grenade out of the hole and saved himself along with the other two. He was still needed by the survivors, he had all the knowledge from his years of experiments. It seemed contrived that he sacrificed himself.
