For me, no chick flick-fest is complete without a little Jane Austen. I'd watch Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion and Pride and Prejudice (the good version with Colin Firth, of course). I think I might have just planned my Labor Day activities!
I want my chick flicks to be romantic and sappy, not sad. That means no Nicholas Sparks and no movies where people die tragically (those are pretty much the same thing actually) :nono

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
I am the same way. I want happy endings. No crying over dead characters. Happy tears are another thing!Originally Posted by Critical;2554671;
Most of my favorites are on this list but one of my favorites is Never Been Kissed. I adore that movie. Perhaps it's because when she describes that perfect kiss and you will just know that's the one you are destined to be with is exactly how I felt the first time I kissed my husband.
I also like Ever After. Drew Barrymore is a good one to watch for those romantic sappy times!
Oh, justCoz... I love Never Been Kissed. I could watch that one often, and have. "That thing, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person and you realize that that person is the only person that you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that that it will go away all at the same time."
I also love 13 Going on 30... great chick stuff and 80s music to boot.
Somebody to Love with Ashley Judd... for some reason I enjoy that one.
Bridget Jones' Diary
Pretty Woman
Breakfast at Tiffany's or any other Audrey Hepburn movie...
Somewhere in Time a HUGE favorite of mine... and love seeing Mackinac Island highlighted well
Father of the Bride awwwww

You all have listed so many of my favorites. Romances are high on my list and one I don't see included is Crossing Delancy. "How do I talk to Isabelle?" Peter Reigert is the sexiest pickle man ever.

I will also throw Wimbeldon, Love Actually and Mystic Pizza into the ring.

I'm with Critical, I like my chick flicks to be happy endings. I was going to say Bridget Jones Diary, but I see someone else finally did.And yes, Love Actually.
