| Live Free or Die Hard Enjoyed the 4th installment of the Die Hard series very much. Sequels, especially of action pictures tend to loose characterization and add lots more action, unfortunately this ends up being a bad film. Die Hard 2 and 3 did that exact thing, trying to build on the action instead of giving us a good story with characters we can relate too and care about. Somebody did something smart and stepped back in Die Hard 4 and wrote a story about a guy who was just doing his job and ended up a hero, but the rewards of being a hero were a divorce, a kid who hated him and a lousy pension. But because John McClane is still one of the good guys, a boy scout at heart he still does his job which is bring down the bad guys. I liked this movie, yes there were some holes in the plot, but all in all it was a good movie. One of the mercs did that wall bounding thing that is a kind of urban sport and the bad guy in the opening of Casino Royale also did. I cannot remember what it is called, but its using the surrounding walls and features of buildings to bounce off them and bound up them, which is really cool to see. Very little bad language. Can take the young ones. I do think that because this movie was realeased the same week as Transformers and a week before the Harry Potter movie it sorta got lost in the shuffle and there were not that many people in the theater. If you can't get tickets to Transformers because it is sold out see this movie instead and see Transformers later.

| Re: Live Free Die Hard My husband and I went to see this Friday and we really enjoyed it. I think taking such a long time between the sequels was a good idea. The updated story fit right in with today. And Bruce still looks fantastic #2 was my least favorite of the series, #3 was so-so, but this one was very good. They had a good story, lots of action, and some great lines. I thought it was well worth paying full price. If you were a fan of the Die Hard series it's a must see. |

| Re: Live Free Die Hard To bad the actual "mother ******" was cut out by a gunshot sound to get the film a PG-13 rating. Besides that, I liked it. Not nearly as good as the first Die Hard but that is hard to beat. Long did fine as did Olyphant (can't wait for him in Hitman later this year). Plenty of good action. I liked Transformers a little bit more though. 8.5/10

| Re: Live Free Die Hard as usual, Bruce delivers. loved D4. I would love a D5 - but seriously doubt it. Took a long time for a good enough story to come around for B to do this one. |

I don't think I could watch John McClane fighting the bad guys with dentures and a wheelchair.

| Re: Live Free Die Hard I loved this film. I wish it had been released as an "R"-rating. We lost a lot of the harshness of John McClane, by trying to reach a wider audience with a lower rating. Losing the ending of Yippee-Kay-Yay was such a letdown. On the plus side, I thought his chemistry with Justin Long was great. This movie was definitely worth the wait. |
