I taped A Night To Remember yesterday & watched it today. For anyone who doesn't know, it's about the sinking of the Titanic.
I found it much better than James Cameron's verson. Much more real. There wasn't that emotionally cloying factor.

All in all, it just broke my heart.

I loved it too and I agree with your observation, it seemed so much more matter of fact and not overly melodramatic or bombastic.

I watched Jack Reacher today and it was only ok, nothing special. Whoever cast Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher needs to be fired. In the books, Jack Reacher is a big guy--6-5" with blond hair and blue eyes. Tom Cruise is that only in his imagination. The guy who plays Thor would have been a better fit looks wise. Tom Cruise did a good job and there was decent action, but to call him Jack Reacher is just wrong.

Starbucks - If you hadn't read the books would you have been as anti-TC as the character?

We saw The Hobbit this past week in IMAX and it was simply wonderful. You just really feel transported to another world. The scenery, the CGi, the costumes, everything just is amazing. Amazing. I didn't want it to end.

The Campaign - a funny look at political campaigns. Not a Will Ferrell fan but liked this movie.

Arbitrage - Loved it. Great performances all around.
Lawless - I thought it was quite well done. It's more violent than the movies I usually like, but I have to say I liked it.
The Words - Very interesting concept. I liked it.
