I'm a big old softie and it doesn't take much for me to start bawling like a baby while watching a movie. However, I don't think any movie has had me crying as hard as Shadowlands, starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger. It's the ultimate tear jerker, just unbearable. I get sad just thinking about a particular scene.

Other movies that made me cry, for various reasons: Sleepless in Seattle, Love Story, Fried Green Tomatoes, Boys Don't Cry, Leaving Las Vegas, Bambi (I was crying so hard that my parents had to escort me from the movie theatre. I was three ). Generally, any mushy rom com has my tear ducts in hysterics. Dramas about people fighting illnesses, too.

The Alastair Sims version of A Christmas Carol gets me going. Sad in a redemptive sort of way. Another one is Sammy and Rosie Get Laid, I've got to rent that - it was always a favourite.

I was just doing some housekeeping and thinking about movies I liked while I scrubbed the bathroom floor. I was thinking about "I Am Sam" I started crying right there on the floor.

That court scene when the judge ordered Lucy taken away.. and Sam starts crying "why can't Lucy come home with me!"

Deep Impact always makes me cry. The part where the mom gives up the baby breaks my heart every time.

Oh, that one made me cry too! I remember holding my sleeping daughter (who wasn't even a year old at the time) as I watched and bawling!

I haven't cried at a movie in a while. I tear up at quite a few. The last one I cried at was, I think, Radio. When the mom died, it was too much for me.
omg me too, i lost it! me and my friend were both crying, and i NEVER cry in movies, the last movie i cried at was the marisa tomei movie with christain slater, but that part when radio's mother died was just too sad, i think i got so upset cause it really happened.

The first movie that made me cry was Hair. The first time I saw it I was only ten, we had recorded it from a Norweigan channel. The transmission was cut right when Berger got into the minitary facility. A couple of weeks later I saw the ending and I was just so chocked by it that I started crying.
