Article But Basinger’s spokeswoman, Annett Wolf, issued a statement on Monday denying the actress released the voice mail and said the recording was “not sealed under a court order.” | |

| Re: Alec Baldwin's phone meltdown I completely hear everything that everyone else is saying. I do not condone releasing this voicemail AT ALL! I don't know who did it, and I wouldn't defend anyone for releasing it. However, I still think that the first issue here is that the man did say these things to his daughter. I sincerely hope that his apology to his daughter was much more genuine than the one that he expressed on his website. I still believe that his public apology was more of a vent of his own about the fact that the voicemail was released; not that he was truly sorry for what he said to his daughter. I don't know what Alec Baldwin said directly to his daughter after he left that message. I just hope he gave her a sincere apology, since I do not believe he gave one in public. It was not right for the voicemail to be leaked; and quite frankly, none of us should know about it, let alone be talking about it. The whole situation is just very sad. |

Also it leads you to wonder if specifically using the language "Kim Basinger did not release the voicemail." (and that's an exact quote) isn't part of a verbal and logic dodge to disguise the fact that someone else, an attorney or agent or friend, released the tape with her consent. The statement would technically be true and could be defended. Once again I find myself hoping a court at some point appoints an independent guardian for this kid and gets her the heck away from all of them.

| Re: Alec Baldwin's phone meltdown Many of the accusations against Kim allegedly releasing the voice mail message stated that it was an egregious act because it was a confidential court evidence. I'd imagine that that's one reason that they worded it that way. With her male attorney's comment last Thursday or Friday... I wouldn't doubt that he had released it. But it still should eliminate some of the extra Kim bashing. |

| Re: Alec Baldwin's phone meltdown Kim has earned her share of bashing, but as 2boysmom points out, this is about Baldwin's inexcusable 'assault' on his daughter. |

| Re: Alec Baldwin's phone meltdown That was my point, Uncle David. I've said further up thread that Kim has done her fair share of heinous things, but we can/should take the "what kind of mother releases this type of voice mail to the press?" off of the list. |

| Re: Alec Baldwin's phone meltdown And what a list it is. ![]() I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Kim was behind the daughter's actions that led to Alec losing his temper. It is entirely possible she is manipulating her daughter into actions that are very hurtful to her father… SO WHAT?? I don’t find Baldwin’s actions any more acceptable than I would a mother who was ‘driven’ to slap her child on the face with an open hand. There is no way this man deserves custody of his child. ![]() |

Would he have released it without her permission? I ask because my sister has been enduring a divorce and its aftermath for over 15 years now and I know her attorney does nothing related to it without my sister's knowledge.

| Re: Alec Baldwin's phone meltdown I disagree Broadway and Uncle David that whether or not Kim played a part in releasing the tape is not relevant to this story. The reason that Alec Baldwin's behavior is relevant is that it indicates how he is as a father. To yell at a child like that indicates he's got little regard for her well-being over his own. If Kim did release the tape, then as I see it, that provides just as much negative commentary about her regard for her daughter's well-being over her own.
