I'm sure he's concocting up a Last Will and Testament of Anna because he wasn't expecting her death. I think he's a shady, shady lawyer and more of a golddigger than anyone could say ANS was.
I agree with you, and I'd go even further. I personally think Stern was an enabler for the worst of ANS's vices. He could have stepped in and gotten her the help she clearly needed. He didn't, for the same reason you stated: he saw her as a meal ticket, nothing more. Even if, strictly speaking, he wasn't responsible for her death (legally), I believe he is so morally speaking.

I'm probably alone in my romanticized empathy for Howard K. Stern. I honestly believe that he's been in love with her, and not her money, since he first met her. ANS has always been described as charming and charismatic.. making those that knew her want to take care of her and protect her.

I agree that Stern was definitely an enabler, but I do not believe that it was out of malicious, money-seeking intent. He's more the sad little lovesick puppy following after his object of adulation... sticking with her when no one else would. I also think he's seen what's happened to people that don't tell ANS "yes"... and has preferred to make whatever she wanted happen.

Anyone who wants to claim this child as his own seems to hava $ on the brain. Yet only Birkhead is willing to give any kind of dna sample. Ehmmm. I hope the same fate doesn't befall this little girl.

I am in agreement with misskitty and Leo. Howard K. Stern's "love" is the dangerous kind for a weak-minded person. If he really loved her, he would have been trying to help her, instead of manipulating her and, in all likelihood, feeding her drugs. He would have been encouraging her in positive directions in her life. I fully believe that this man is an emotional vampire. I also think he looks at that beautiful baby's face and sees a dollar sign, instead.

Any man who claims the child belongs to him, more than one of Anna Nicole Smith's family members, scares the heck out of me. Harold K. Stern is a very needy individual who doesn't deserve the child.

You are not alone in thinking this Broadway. None will ever know the real truth but I think Howard really loved Anna Nicole.

Not only do I think he was an enabler, I think he was an equal participant. He always looked as high as she did, to me. I just expected more responsibility from him than I did her, for some reason. I think maybe it's because he was more educated and should have known the signs and to get help for the both of them. I have no doubt that he was in control of her, but not in very good control of himself. In every interview I saw after Daniel died, he looked as spaced out as she did. If any one of us regular people had appeared as out of control as those two did, I also think that child welfare would have been knocking at our doors. I can't imagine that they are letting that baby stay in the house with him. I think they are letting the baby down. The emergency DNA should have been done and if, as I suspect, he had no part in her conception, she should never have sent another minute in his presence.

Also any will of Anna's, written by him, should be thrown out and treated as if it never existed. I suspected that he was resonsible for Daniels deth and now Anna's. I want the baby away from him, for her safety.

I have always thought that HKS has been in love with ANS and that if she couldn't return his affections in public, then he was content to just be with her and be a part of her life. I do think he has wanted to protect her and take care of her and she felt safe with him.

I'm not so blind to see that both ANS and HKS have in recent interviews (especially since Daniel's death) both been a little spacey....ANS has always been a little out there but HKS has NOT always been like that...he wasn't on her e!entertainment show and not on other appearances that they were on.

I don't really have any feelings towards Larry Birkhead...I think he very well could be that baby's daddy but why did ANS not want him to be a part of their life??

As long as ANS family doesn't have a part of that child's life, I would be OK with HKS or Larry Birkhead having custody. I wonder if Larry turns out to be the baby's daddy, would the courts allow HKS to see that child? If not, I could honestly see him committing suicide. Others feel that HKS is a gold digger but I think the TRUE gold diggers are ANS family! They only come around when they smell money.........

Did anyone watch 20/20 Friday night? Deborah Roberts interviewed the mother of ANS and eventually flew down to the Bahamas with her, on a private jet. She was going down there to try and get the baby and bring her back to the states. The mother is very concerned that the baby's life is in danger. She also stated that she never saw the baby, except for pictures on TV.

She also said that she had just happened to be watching CNN on Thursday when news broke that ANS was dead! That's how she found out.

She also said that ANS never gave her family a dime, ever, not even when one of her sisters was undergoing treatment for leukemia and was facing some staggering bills.

If anyone wants to see the video, it is on the ABCnews website.

Also, here is a little insight into how well ANS and her half sister got along!

'Only her Texas twang was real' How Anna went from A-cup to A-list

BY MICHELLE CARUSO and CORKY SIEMASZKO
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS

The Anna Nicole Smith who boasted a 42-26-38 figure at her most outrageous and became an object of lust and desire to legions of American men was not born - she was made.

The real Smith started out in podunk Texas as flat-chested, dark-haired, unlovely Vickie Lynn Hogan with an abusive father, a hapless mother - and zero prospects.

How Smith managed to defy both her circumstances and Mother Nature and transform herself from Texas trailer trash into an international sex symbol is the subject of a scathing unpublished biography by writer Stacy Brown with the late sexpot's half-sister, Donna Hogan.

It's appropriately entitled "Train Wreck."

"This is a Horatio Alger story with a dark side," the manuscript quotes Hogan saying. "Anna claims she has had no plastic surgery; we have the evidence that everything about her but her trademark Texas country twang is manufactured - breasts, lips, weight loss."

"Train Wreck" also depicts an out-of-control sex maniac who liked to brag about it. She even claimed to have had "amazing" sex with a ghost.
"Vickie is a fiend and not only does she know it, she cherishes the fact that others know it too," Hogan hissed.

Smith was especially proud of what was described as her "factory made chest."

It was her ticket out of obscurity - and her biggest asset. "Anna had to resort to specially made bras as her size became Double F's."

The biggest size Victoria's Secret sells is a double D cup.

Smith's sudden death on Thursday under mysterious circumstance was keenly felt by women who - like Smith - have had to struggle with their weight.
The 39-year-old former Playboy playmate was the face and figure of TrimSpa and claimed the diet pills helped her shed 69 pounds. But that too was a lie, the book insists.

"While Anna Nicole collects big money as the spokeswoman for a diet program she claims slimmed her from dowdy to supermodel-thin, sister Donna has evidence of the real route to skinniness: photos of Anna's liposuction," according to the book's intro.

Smith's many surgeries "make her look like chopped liver" and "threatened to send [her] to a psychiatrist," the book continues.

Those assertions were buttressed Friday by Broward County coroner Joshua Perper, who performed the autopsy on Smith after she died in a Florida hotel room.

Smith's body, Perper said, "showed some indication of scarring from plastic surgery, but nothing recent."

"Anna Nicole was born Vickie Lynn Hogan November 28th, 1967, in Houston, Texas to a father who abused all the people who should have been near and dear to him," the book said.

By the time Smith hit puberty, her father was out of the picture and she was running wild.

"When other girls were filling out, Vickie, to her continuing dismay, remained flat-chested, with jet-black hair and a manly look," the book states. "She hungered for the attention of boys and was always jealous of other girls who got it, until she found that if she were wild enough, and loose enough, the boys would accept her company."

After a brief marriage to a teenage fry cook that produced a son, Smith began transforming herself. "Vickie found an idol, another girl from poverty who managed to remake herself into a sex goddess: Marilyn Monroe," Hogan told Brown.

Harnessing a ferocious sex drive, Smith started working as a stripper in Houston, and "began to boast to friends that she would soon land a wealthy man."

But Smith's God-given breasts were spoiling her chances.

"She was still flat-chested, barely filling out an A-cup - not what the men who frequent strip clubs have come to see," according to "Train Wreck." To her dismay, Smith was stuck with the day shift rather than night shift when the big spenders were out.

So when Smith had raised enough money, she bought herself new breasts.
"What she designed for herself was such a leap in size that it had to be done in two stages," the half-sister dished. "When finished, she had gone from an A-cup to a weighty, massive DD-cup (sic) eventually Double F's."

They were, in Hogan's words, "obscenely large."

"Flaunting her new chest, Anna was hired at another strip club, Gigi's cabaret," according to the book. "During a visit to the club, a frequent patron spotted the new girl and was immediately drawn to her."

That patron was Texas oil baron J. Howard Marshall, who was 89, wheelchair-bound - and completely smitten. Over his son's objections, they married.
Marshall called her "the love of my life," Hogan said. "Meanwhile, she was cheating on him at every turn, having sex with household servants, girlfriends, and married men. Anna loves sex, every way possible."

Marshall was aware of Smith's alleged infidelities "but seems to accept it as part of the bargain. ... Occasionally Anna puts in an appearance, dances naked for him, and provides him sexual gratification."

Smith's voracious sexual appetite cost her an $850,000 settlement when her son's nanny sued for being coerced into lesbian sex with her.

Hogan revealed that on at least one occasion, Smith's young son walked in on his mother in the middle of sex: "She didn't stop, she didn't even shoo him out."

How lovely is it that Anna's half "sister" is using her death to publicize a mean "biography" of her life. Awwww...
