US pop singer Willa Ford is set to play Anna Nicole Smith in an independent film about the late former Playboy model's life.

Ford, who became known as the Bad Girl of Pop after the release of her first album in 2001, will begin filming the biopic next week, entertainment daily Variety reported.

The 26-year-old bears a striking physical resemblance to Smith and like the blonde tabloid icon she will play, has also posed for Playboy and taken part in reality television shows.

Variety reported that the film would cover Smith's life from her days as a teenager up until her death from an accidental overdose in Florida in February at the age of 39.

Ford is best known for her platinum-selling single I Wanna Be Bad and her debut album Willa Was Here.

News of the biopic comes after a judge in the Bahamas ruled that Smith's former boyfriend Larry Birkhead was the father of her seven-month-old daughter Dannielynn.

I hope so but if Athena Onsasis is the example things will get messy. Virgie fight for custody/guardianship is all about money and like the funeral of ANS, she won't go down with out a fight. When there is potenial for that much money, the nastiness of human nature is on full display.

As for the will, it the only one out there and even though it didn't mention Dannylynn it will stand.

It's interesting how fast ET has moved from all things Howard Stern to "what's best for Dannielynn". How quickly they realize how foolish they've been. I think they deserve it for putting all their eggs in Stern's basket.

Glad Birkhead is the father and I hope that now some of the controversy will go away.

Well, this is curious. These diaries appear to be the same ones auctioned on E-Bay a few weeks, by the same auctioner (Heritage), where the final bid was over $500K. I read the sample passages that were posted on the E-Bay auction, and they're the same as those posted for this auction. The E-Bay diaries were from 1992 and 1994 and so are these diaries. According to the E-Bay auction, the consignors were a former bodyguard and a former agent. I wondered at the time if they could have been stolen because what celebrity would just give their diaries away??

New allegations of cheating and thievery in the Anna Nicole saga. Lin Wood, the high-powered bull-dog attorney of Howard K. Stern has sent a notice to Heritage Auctions, Inc. over two of Anna Nicole's diaries listed as available on the site. Wood claims that the diaries were stolen and that the company, and the auction sponsor, Clips4Sale.com, are not legally entitled to hawk the items.

"Make no mistake: these items were stolen from Ms. Smith by one or more thieves." claims Wood's letter. "Ms. Smith's Estate intends to vigorously pursue the return of the diaries, will take whatever means necessary to secure their return, and will hold to account those persons and entities that have profited through their reprehensible acts at the expense of the Estate."

A rep from Heritage Auctions denies Wood's claims, saying that "the facts he mentions in the letter are FALSE -- these diaries are NOT stolen, (They were obtained BEFORE her death) -- he is just trying to steal more money in the name of Anna Nicole." The diaries are handwritten journals from 1992 and 1994 and both auctions start at a whopping $26,000.

According to the item description, the consignors were described as follows:

Consignors in this special Anna Nicole Auction include "The Bodyguard" William Castleberry, who has worked security for many celebrities throughout the years, plus D'eva and Eric Redding who actually discovered Anna Nicole, when she was an unknown dancer in Houston, Texas, and managed her early career for a period of two years.

So how did they get the diaries? I doubt Anna just gave them away.

My understanding is that these diaries were procured years ago, from her trash. But, who knows? I guess we will wait to find out.

I do find it curious that Lin Wood feels he's entitled to somehow represent ANS's estate. Her will hasn't been probated anywhere, so HKS isn't the executor, as of yet.

Of further interest, Lin Wood has evidently instituted a suit against John O'Quinn for defamation and/or slander. Should be interesting to watch this play out. It's further rumored that O'Quinn is about to sue HKS for wrongful death. That should also be fascinating to follow.

I don't see how Quinn can sue HKS when the inquest hasnt reached it's final determination. Quinn is just pissed and trying to get paid since Virgie will not win guardianship of Dannylynn. Oh, interesting Virgie drops the custody issue but still wants to be guardian. She doesn't want to take care of the baby but wants to rule the money. Virgie is so pathetic.

The inquest is into Daniel's death, and I'm fairly sure the wrongful death suit is for Anna's death. I'm not an attorney, but I don't see why he can't go forward with it, despite the coroner's findings - OJ was sued (and lost) for wrongful death after being found not guilty.
