| This generally isn't the kind of movie I like, but I saw a trailer for it the other day and it does look pretty good. Some very good actors in the cast too. | |

| Its also based on a pretty good book. It wasn't just slapped together as a movie script.

| What's amazing is the writer wrote this when he was 15! I think he's only in his early 20's right now. There's another book to the series called Eldest but I can't remember if it's supposed to take place before or after Eragon. I haven't read either of the books. |

| I am actually really looking forward to this movie, I think it has the potential to rival a Harry Potter or LOTR movie. I could be wrong, but I hope it does. I have been very patient waiting for this to come out. ![]() |

| I would like to be excited about this, but I heard through various sources that the young writer ripped off several plot lines from favorite fantasy series, like LOTR and the Dragons of Pern and the Lloyd Alexander series. So I'm already predispositioned to not like it for its unoriginality. | |

| I just saw it today. It was ok, but I didn't like how it didn't follow the book too well. It just kinda...well went it's own way. It skipped like half of it. It was only about and hour and a half, so it was a little short for a huge book like that. Also, the plot was way too fast moving. I wished it coud have gone a little slower. This is a warning!! If you haven't read the book, don't see the movie!! You will have no idea what's going on. It was cheesy too. OPtherwise, it was thrilling and suspenseful. Burntbrat, you're right. You definatley see a little too much LOTR in it. I was actually disapointed. Great book though! I'd reccomend it to anyone.

| I took my neice to see it yesterday and was not impressed. The trailers were great but I was totally underwhelmed by the plot and pacing. I have also been watching LOTRs again on TNT and the two just do not compare. A pet peeve in Eragon is the final fight scene done at night especially between Eragon and the magice dark demon was very hard to see as it was very, very dark. The director of this film needs to see LOTR and know that you can do fight scenes at night that viewers can actually see what is happening. I also felt the character development sucked, as far as the relationship between Eragon and Brom, and Eragon and Aria. Also while I am a fan of the Dragons of Pern, I don't mind ripoffs too much if they are done well. Katie MacAlister's does a great spoof of Christine Feehans 'Carpathians', while I think JR Ward's 'Dark Dagger Brotherhood', another Feehan inspired series, totally, totally sucks. Another MAJOR PEEVE is that the dragon, goes on its first flight and grows to almost full size on one meal of a rat. The caloric expenditure of being born and growing to a 20 ft dragon and constantly flying must be tremendous and all we see is this dragon eat is one measly rat. Gee, if rats are so calorie ridden we have just solved the whole's food storage problem.

| I seem to be in the minority, but I enjoyed this movie. This was recommended to me by a few members of my church who took their kids/grandkids to see it. So I went and I loved it. It did bring back memories of LOTR, but I thought the acting was good and it was nice to see a fast paced and entertaining family movie. |
