The Family Stone. In the movie the fiance of one of the sisters ends up falling in love with one of the other sisters after spending one day with her. I was like come on.

When I was growing up, the Wizard of Oz always played during the Easter holiday so I associated it with that time period. I remember when they quit showing it on a regular basis and I was so upset!

I also like the first Home Alone. Who can not love "Are you ready to give up or are you thirsty for more?"

Home for the Holidays - Holly Hunter & Robert Downey Jr.
    Such a wonderful dysfunctional family.

    and
    A Muppet Family Christmas

Muppets, fraggle rock, sesame street characters (1987) - who could ask for more?
well, maybe costing a little less -
amazon.com has it ranging from $149.95 to $599.95

I really need to go through my old vcr tapes - I think I actually recorded it.....
I wish they would show it again

I think the worst Christmas movie has to be the one coming out Christmas Day - Black Christmas. My reaction when I saw the promo on TV was a bit shocked - to open a movie like that on Christmas Day is just wrong (on so many levels). I am an agnostic and I think it is wrong, I can imagine what the Christian community thinks.

"Black Christmas" is a remake of a horror classic that starred a young Margot Kidder and Andrea Martin (who is the dorm mother in the remake, I believe). The new one also has a handful of promising young actresses in the mix, so it might actually have some promise if they lean more toward suspense/horror than slasher film.

Can't believe that I forgot Love Actually. One of my all-time favorite movies, not just Christmas movies. What a stellar cast. I cry every time I watch it. Especially at the end when the Beach Boys come on and we hear "God Only Knows" this leads to me bawling like a baby

I'm a sucker for a good old MGM-esque Christmas musical or comedy.

    Best - Classics

    Christmas in Conneticut
Holiday Inn (the first movie White Christmas was in)
    The Shop Around the Corner
    Miracle on 34th Street
    It's a Wonderful Life
    White Christmas
Meet Me in St. Louis (Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas)
    Remember the Night
The Man Who Came To Dinner

    Best - Modern

    A Christmas Story
NL Christmas Vacation (I'm actually an extra in the sledding scene, )
    A Charlie Brown Christmas
Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer/all other Rankin Bass stop action animations
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (both live action and animated)
    Gremlins
    Rent
    Home For the Holidays
    A Muppet Christmas Carol
    Love Actually

    Worst -

Santa Claus versus the Martians (only good in a MST3K sort of way)
    Jingle All the Way
Lifetime/Hallmark/Movie of the Week Christmas movie du jour (Especially if it stars Susan Lucci
    Star Wars Holiday Special
    Surviving Christmas
    Black Christmas/Silent Night Deadly Night/etc
there is no energy shortage, there is a shortage of imagination

Elf has to be one of the best holiday movies of all time! Will Ferrell is just the best elf you could ever hope to meet!

Worst holiday movie would haveto be any Lifetime/ABC Family crap! Yuck!!

I have to add "The Ref" to this because I forgot about it and am currently watching it while wrapping gifts. Denis Leary is hilarious.
