I think I was in shock over some of it. I was almost forced to go see this. I was very down in the dumps - a friend took me out and said I needed to laugh. My daughter whose opinions I usually agree with had seen this the night it was released and said it was really funny - I still thought it would be stupid and I would not like it. I laughed so hard my face and stomach hurt. That naked scene OMG grosssssssss but too freaking funny!!!! I kept thinking they can't do this!! He can't do this!! I'm glad those boys got busted for being the idiots they clearly are. | |

| Re: Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhst I finally rented this movie and watched it last week on a camping trip. I'm obviously in the minority here. I hated the movie. In fact I couldn't watch it past the dinner party scene. When Borat announced he'd 'do' the two women on either side of him, but not the pastor's wife, it was the last straw. |

| Re: Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhst I don't actually buy a lot of movies. I usually rent. But this is one I will definitely buy. Something that passed right by most people is a very small part of the humor was in Russian. For example, you may recall the short scene when Borat introduced his well endowed brother, "Huey Lewis." If you listen carefully, he wasn't saying "Huey." He was saying "Hooey." Simply put, "Hooey" is Russian slang for d*ck. Knowing that makes that scene make a lot more sense, but if it flew past you, it still didn't take anything away from the movie. I thought the movie was brilliant. I made the mistake of recommending it to a fairly religious and sensitive customer of mine though. I did caution them it wasn't for the squeamish, but big mistake nonetheless! They didn't see the humor at all. Different strokes I guess.
