| We saw Borat this weekend and found it to be hilarious (particularly the quite revolting wrestling scene - ha, still laughing), and neither of us thought that anyone had particularly been exploited. If you're a jackass, you're a jackass, and that's your own fault - not the filmmakers. And we actually found that his treatment of the prostitute Luenelle to be particularly respectful and I really appreciated that. And the only people that I thought might have had any grounds whatsoever to sue are the actual people of Kazakhstan, though I did notice the disclaimer at the end letting the Western world know that the Kazakhstanies are not all that he claimed they were.

| Sorry to disappoint you but I read that she was an actress hired for the role.

| I am disappointed. I was really hoping that I was seeing someone not treat a working girl like they were less than human.

| TWO BIG Golden Globe noms. Best Freaking Picture folks. Which it will lose to Dreamgirls, but that's STILL huge news for a film of this type. And Best Actor. Sasha Baron Cohen will have to take down the likes of extreme Hollywood-popular types like Will Ferrill and Johnny Depp, but... I think its far more possible than the film itself winning. It may have gotten some technical award categories as well, but the two mentioned above are pretty huge.

| Had to bump this thread. I finally saw Borat tonight and... whoa! I don't remember every laughing that hard in a movie, ever. Mostly with disbelief that he had the nerve to pull off some of the stuff he did. Now I know what all the fuss was about!

| I've finally seen it and I thought it was pretty good. I was a little surprised by how the movie played out and I'm not really sure how I thought it would, but it was different. I'm pretty amazed at what they got away with and with what they could do without being arrested! |

| I rented it this weekend too! Not only did I LOVE the movie, but I was thoroughly entertained by the way they did the DVD to have the look and feel that it did, with the features and what not. The features are limited, but very definitely worth watching - some quite funny deleted scenes from the movie. |
