It is about the fall of the Mayan empire -- you should definitely check out the trailer: very powerful and visually stunning.

Here is the IMDb page:

you can find the trailer here -- let me know what you think.

Very, very impressed. I've been waiting to see this one.

The Mayan empire (and the ultimate disappearance of) is incredibly interesting and fascinating. I know Mel Gibson will be able to do this justice.

Yeah the subject matter is of very much interest to me -- I think it will be interesting to see Gibson's side of it.

Here is the official website that I found too

I've read it's incredibly violent (part of an article on Mel's bloodlust...from the blue faced "barbarians" to Jesus' death to Mayan rituals)--too much so for the squeamish?

I think we have a tendency to really downplay violence in our society. Its not pretty but it is a part of life. In the days before democracy and our wonderful justice system people lived by different rules, that could and were brutal. Gibson is just trying to portray life as it really was and not a washed up sugaried version that is PC. It is not blood for bloods sake like all the slasher movies which make loads of money, else why would there be a SAW III.
