I'm not a movie buff at all. It's not that I don't like movies -- I do -- it's that I don't like to sit still for very long without multi-tasking and I have a pretty full life, so I just don't make much time for movies. I go to fewer movies than anybody I know, and in fact
Flyboys is the first movie I've seen at a theater since I moved back to Massachusetts in October 2001.
I'd never even heard of this movie until it was suggested to me by a friend, and I wasn't thrilled with the notion of seeing it because I'm not a fan of "war movies" at all.
I loved Flyboys. I loved it because the scenery was gorgeous, the details were factual, and the acting was exceptional. It was very well done, in my opinion.
I was expecting it to be just another "war movie" but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the director's attention was focused much more on the personal lives of the characters than it was on the fighting scenes. I loved it because I learned from it, too, and it made me think about things long after I left the theater.
E! Online gave it a B+:
