What kind of people? Actors? Authors of fiction?

I'm planning on seeing it this weekend, if we can find a sitter (it's a long holiday weekend in Canada). If you're seeing it on Friday, Toby, please post your review.

Ajane, you are brave. I plan to wait until the crowds die down a little and see it in a week or so. The sort of ex-husband and I are planning on a date. If he stands me up I will have his guts for garters.

And happy Queen Victoria's Birthday on Monday, fellow Canucks. (yes you heard me right, south of the border!).

Man this is getting terrible reviews today. I had hoped it would be good.

Reviews here are non commital, none of the critics are saying that its really bad but none of them are saying its great either. No rating above ***, which usually means it mediocre at best.

I am surprised at the ratings so far. I still plan on seeing it. We get it here tomorrow. But I don't think I'll see it so soon.

I really really hope it is a good, if not great, film. Critics have been wrong before. Nothing would make me happier than for this movie to be a gigantic hit.

Just seen it, it was good, but not great. If you have read the book, the movie kind of lets you down.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, probably next weekend since I'll be busy this one.

Of course the book is almost always better than the movie, inherently so because books go into so much more detail. That doesn't spoil it for me, even when the book is one of my favorites; movies can catch the flavor of a book while leaving great chunks out if they are true to the essence. I like to see the movie to see if the filmed version agrees with the version in my head. Also, I tend to forget the details of the book so I like it when the movie prods my memory. I guess I'm easily satisfied.

I would expect TDC to be flawed, but I have great respect for Tom Hanks as an actor and especially like Ron Howard so I expect I'll like the movie, too.

Saw it last night. Thought it was very entertaining and followed the book pretty well. I'd give it 3 stars - better than mediocre
