Well Rent made $18.1 million for the 5 day weekend. Not bad at all.

Saw this last night and it left me speechless. I absolutely loved it. The fact that six of the actors were from the original cast definitely made it even more special. Wonderful performances from everyone, and I very much enjoyed the way the play was adapted for the screen. I know I'll be seeing it several more times, buying the dvd, etc. Bravo!

*sigh* Saw it again last night and I still love it to bits and pieces...and dammit, the funeral scene still makes my heartstrings tug!

I saw it with my mom and normally she is weary of musicals with too much singing and she LOVED it. We both agree that Rosario Dawson should have at least some nomination or accolade during awards season and that Adam Pascal is very sexy. My mom pointed out who she thought he reminded him of: Jon Bon Jovi! I knew he had a familiar rockstar type look! :p

Also, a vast majority of people in my musical theatre class have seen the movie already and we all make endless references to the show. We even "casted" ourselves as "Rent" characters (I was Maureen). Man, we even convinced our teacher to let us sing "Seasons of Love" for our concert coming up this week.

Okay, sorry for my ramblings ( ) but goodness gracious I love "Rent"!

RENThead here who hasn't seen the movie yet. I heard that 2 songs were cut from the stage show. I think one was "Christmas Bells"...what's the other one?

"Happy New Year" and "Contact" were left out. "Goodbye Love" in on the original movie sountrack but only half of it is in the actual movie.

Aw, man! "Happy New Year" was left out? That is a great song!

As for "Contact"...eh...it is probably my least favorite song from the show, anyway, so no harm no foul...

Thanks for the info, sleepysluggo!

They also cut out Halloween. But they're going to put that and the other half of Goodbye Love as extras on the DVD.
