    Christian Slater Arrested -- Again

I've never been a fan of Christian Slater. I don't think he's a very good actor, I think he's ugly as sin, and I hate his voice. I will admit I liked one movie he was in -- Broken Arrow -- but in spite of him, not because of him. But I have to admit, even though what he's alleged to have done is wrong, I find this article funny on some odd level. Also, when CNN announced this morning that Christian Slater had just been arrested for sexual harassment and they showed the live video of it as it happened, I somehow expected his wife Ryan -- even though they're separated again at the moment -- to be the one who called police on him, since those two are always in the news getting each other arrested or in trouble, and he's been arrested for sexual misbehavior with ex-girlfriends. I think Christian would make a good partner for Paris Hilton.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Actor Christian Slater was arrested in Manhattan early Tuesday after he allegedly sexually harassed a woman on the street, police said.

Slater, 35, was taken into custody in an Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan after police responded to a call from a woman who said she had been attacked while walking, said New York Police Sgt. Mary Doherty.

"Basically he grabbed a woman's behind on the street," said Doherty, adding Slater was "intoxicated at the time."

Video showed Slater handcuffed and escorted by police into a squad car. "I didn't do anything," he said.

He has been charged with third degree sexual abuse and is being held at the 19th precinct in Manhattan. He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning.

Slater has had previous trouble with the law. In 1997 he was charged with three counts of assault and one count of battery after he assaulted a girlfriend while intoxicated. He served 59 days of a three-month sentence.

Slater has starred in films such as "Interview with the Vampire," released in 1994, 1996's "Broken Arrow," and "Heathers" in 1989.

What a shame...he's been on a one-way bullet train to Loserville for a while now.

And it doesn't get much Loserville than grabbing random butts on the street.

In fact, I'm sure many of us are familiar with those neighbourhoods.

Poor Christian. How the mighty have fallen. He was so promising in Heathers and Pump Up The Volume.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

I found this odd, as there was an article in the news a couple weeks ago about a fabric store guy that patted some woman's butt, and they found that it wasn't sexual harrassment, only meant to 'humiliate and degrade' and therefore not illegal.

May 19, 2005 -- It's not necessarily a crime to pat a person on the posterior, a Manhattan judge has ruled.
The finding a potential blow to harassed women and boon to pro ballplayers was made by Criminal Court Judge Richard Weinberg, who threw out a charge of "forcible touching" against a fabric-store worker who was charged with patting a college student on the behind.

The judge also slapped down a sexual-abuse charge against the man, finding the purported patting was carried out "for the purpose of degrading and abusing" the supposed victim, and not "for the purpose of gratifying sexual desire."

The tushie-touching allegedly took place Nov. 2, when a group of fashion students went to Mountain of Fabrics on West 40th Street for fabric samples.

That's when prosecutors say employee Mohammed Nuruzzuman approached one of the female students "and placed his hand on and patted her buttocks." After she moved away, he "again placed his hand on and patted her buttocks," court papers say.

Prosecutors said the patting was "done intentionally and for no legitimate purpose," and left the student "harassed, annoyed and alarmed."

Nuruzzuman, 36, told The Post he's no fanny feeler and believes he was framed because he wouldn't give the students free swatches.

"They are teenage students. They are lying, believe me," he said.

His boss, Akbar Ali, has Nuruzzuman's back. "He's an honest guy," Ali said.

Nuruzzuman's lawyer made the argument "that placing a hand on and patting a person's buttocks does not amount to forcible touching," and the judge agreed.

Judge Weinberg found forcible touching includes "squeezing, grabbing or pinching," while the dictionary definition of "to pat" is to "touch quickly and gently with the flat of the hand."

Therefore, "the acts alleged . . . as offensive and inappropriate as they might be, are nonetheless insufficient to support the charge."

He did let stand a charge of harassment against Nuruzzuman, a violation that could result in a fine.

That's a slap on the wrist compared to what he could have gotten a conviction on forcible touching carries a jail sentence of up to a year, and a sexual abuse in the third degree conviction carries a sentence of 30 days.
is the link to that story. So Christian must have had sexual aforethought to be arrested.

I feel for the guy, his wife abused him, he -like Winona Ryder are passe and uncool, trying to reclaim some fame. I always thought him the young man's Nicholson, and liked him in a couple cheese fests (I think it was a Young Guns film).

    Tex!

I just don't get it. I did love him in his short stint on The West Wing.

    He definitely has a history!

I loved him in Heathers. I know there were some recent blind items that hinted at he and Lindsey Lohan hooking up and making out somewhere in public.

    He's a guy -- isn't that a foregone conclusion?

I don't feel the least sorry for either of them. He abused her, and she abused him. They both did their share of abusing the other. They both need to be in rehab and some serious psychotherapy.

If I was Ryan I'd be beating on him, no doubt.
