Anne never goes after her husband who's gone at war - it was her son who left, and died in the war. They never adopted a child from the war - I was truly dissapointed. The first two movies were very close to fiction, the third, far from it.
The only part I absolutely loved in the Third movie, was when she picked up the boy from the train station. SHe glanced over the wall to see him, and he looked over, just like Matthew did when he first picked up Anne. It was such a great part. I almost cried. LOL
