He also married a woman with children who ended up dying of cancer I think. There was a movie starring Anthony Hopkins about his life, it is called Shadowlands it is really good. There is also a heart wrenching book about his time with Joy his wife called " A severe mercy" written by a close friend of his. It is a lovely book but definately tears your heart out at times. C.S. Lewis was an amazing man with a great talent.
It is fascinating to me that he was such good friends with another great talent JRR Tolkien.

Debra Winger played his wife in the movie. It's a very sweet, sad story.

Hmm. I was doing the "Which character are you quiz" -- (I'm Caspian, apparently) -- and then looked at the other ones, and I found it interesting that they have pictures of people playing several characters from later books, although not quite all -- a few later ones were drawings. Have they started filming the others yet? There were characters from at least through "The Silver Chair."

Oh yeah, Baby, merchandise IS out! Here's a link to all the pages and pages and pages of Narnia stuff you could possibly buy: http://www.narniaweb.com/gallery.asp?gall=7&p=1&n=12

I just got my copy of the movie companion from Amazon! I can't wait to settle down with it and a good cuppa tea!

Lucy, I heard that they are planning on shooting movies for all of the books. However, it is all dependant on how the first movie does.

I don't know if a unicorn is from any story but it does fit with the fantasy theme.

I think Jewel the Unicorn was from "The Last Battle," or whatever the last book was.
That was always my least favorite, though, so I'm not positive.
