He just won't let his joke die down. My favourite actor.

I hope Jamie Foxx wins this year. It's a landmark year for African-American actors, what with five noms in the acting categories. It's a shame because I admire all of the Lead Actor nominees, especially Depp and Cheadle.

I think its a shame Hotel Rwanda wasnt considered for best Pic. What about Sharon Warren for Best Supporting Actress in Ray?

As much as I love Johnny Depp, I didnt care for his performance in Finding Neverland, he took Paul Giamatti's spot.

I wish the Oscars werent such a competition between studios and people have to pay money to push their films...Just like Mel was complaining about.

I wasn't surprised that Passion of the Christ wasn't nominated. The only acclaim it got was for Gibson not being afraid to show a more realistic view of the crucifixion. The movie in and of itself was so-so itself.

I was also not surprised that Paul Giamatti wasn't nominated. He plays the same character in every roll. I loved the movie and was happy to see Church got the nod he was absolutely fabulous. I don't think they were wrong in giving the nod to Johnny Depp and I anxiously await to see his spin on Willy Wonka when it comes out He manages to put something different in every part he plays.

I can't help but wonder what would happen if Howard Hughes beat out Ray Charles for the win this year. Both actors did an amazing job of depicting these icons.

I love Annette Benning, but I don't think her performance holds a candle to Swank's in Million Dollar Baby. The leading ladies race will be a close one, but I think Swank directed by Eastwood will take this one.

I agree. Johnny Depp is a talented actor and hot, and I love the quality he brings to all his roles, but the Barrie performance wasn't exactly shattering or even that nuanced. I kind of miss the pre-Pirates Viper Room days and the roles he took back then, instead of family-friendly Johnny, but all boys grow up...

I absolutely love Don Cheadle and I would love to see him win. But like so many have said, it's his to lose. As far as his nomination in Collateral, I think it's well deserved. He managed to develop a character in what would otherwise be a usual shoot em up movie with car crashes.

I'd also like to see Clive Owen and Natalie Portman win.

It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

Ehh.. I think there are some movies on that list that definitely should have gotten more nominations.

Guess you can't expect much when you have something like Shark Tale nominated for Chrissake.

    JMHO, as always:

If "Aviator", Scorcese, or DiCaprio win, I'm crying "FOUL". The movie was OK, but not as good as others nominated.

Jamie was "Ray", only Don Cheadle came close for best actor.

Clint deserves both Director and Best film - I hope Scorcese doesn't get the sympathy vote.

Hilary Swank deserves best actress, whether she beat Bening before or not.

"Incredibles", it's no "Finding Nemo" or "Shrek", but, the others didn't shine either.

Supporting roles, I thought they all did well, up for grabs for both acor & actress.

Sorry, Giamatti fans, not impressed, but Hayden Church, I liked.
Sing & dance the night away!

Actually, it can happen. It's happened in the past.
