    Your favorite indie movies?

    I'm always on the hunt for movies that get little mainstream attention, but are great nonetheless. I'll post some of my favorites in hopes that you'll post yours (and I'll discover some new gems):

    Badlands, yes, loved that movie, but hated Happiness, way too twisted, I remember leaving that movie at the theatre, and commenting to my friend that it was good to see a nice family film for a change, to the hysterical laughter of some of the audience that overheard me.

    Lone Star is one of my favorites - you hardly ever see mainstream films with so much complexity.
    I love everything that Christopher Guest does, but A Mightly Wind is my favorite - probably because my uncle is a 50-something musician and the movie reminds me so much of him and his friends.

    There is a great little movie called "I Like it Like That" by a first-time director that I randomly rented one time. Absolutely loved it and have never met someone else who has seen it, until I rented it again and made them watch it with me.

    "Ulee's Gold" is a good one....with Peter Fonda.
    I like ALL of the PT Anderson movies. He's a great filmmaker.
    "Waking Life"....a visually stunning movie by Richard Linklater(right?)
