A bunch of young men in the prime of their lives, not interesting to me.

It was actually quite good. It was about anti-Semitism and peer pressure more than anything.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.

recently saw a couple of interesting movies:

adaptation - hmmm, overall good. he fooled me. i'm so gullible. what an interesting way to adapt a book to a movie . . charlie kaufman must be one weird man in real life. to think up this screenplay AND being john malkovich - very strange workings in that mind. yes.

it cracks me up that his "brother" was nominated for an oscar along with him. does that mean he fooled the academy as well?

talk to her or habla con ella - interesting. i enjoyed it but i felt like the ending leaves you kind of hanging. i wanna know what happens next.

I watched The Pianist tonight. I thought it was very good. That one part when you see the Nazi's boot all of a sudden, I was all shocked! I felt the suspense! I liked it a lot.

Last night I watched Bringing Out the Dead. My friend didn't like it, but I knew I would. It was funny, but had a lot of seriousness that I didn't expect. I enjoyed the camera work. Nicholas Cage did well. A few slow spots here and there, but it moved the movie.

I liked Talk to Her, but it's not my favorite of Almodovar's films (and I'm a big fan). I liked All About My Mother much better, and many of his earlier films.

Birthday Girl with Nicole Kidman. It was okay; had a couple of little twists, but that's about it.

Watched Secretary last week. It stars my av (James Spader) and a relative unknown named Maggie Gyllenhaal. It was quirky and funny. A dark comedy/drama, I'd say. Spader was his usual excellent self, and Gyllenhaal was a revelation. It's an unusual story, to be sure, and it's probably not for everyone, but my wife and I really enjoyed it.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

    Maggie is Jake's sister, correct?

I've heard a lot of good things about that movie.

I watched Maid in Manhattan this weekend - it was eh, alright, entertaining, but a cheap rip off of a hundred other romantic comedies.

Hmm... funny thing. I just saw The Good Girl with Jake Gyllenhaal. Such a cutie!! And I do like to see Jennifer Aniston out of her "Rachel" persona. But this movie was a drama that I have a feeling isn't going to end well (no, I haven't finished it) so we're just going to have to see. Lots of sex... do they really need to show it? Eh, maybe more "mature" viewers would like that sort of thing
