We Bought a Zoo - Cute movie about a single dad who bought a zoo and how his children reacted to this new lifestyle. I had read rave reviews on it but I think I just don't like too many movies that much anymore since everything has already been done.

The Vow and We Bought a Zoo.My niece decided her and I needed to see both these movies. Not bad. LOL Not my choice but they were both okay

Meanwhile I just finished the complete third season of Nurse Jackie. Damn Falco is great!

And I liked when he was wandering around the house! The ending was a disappointment. Read the ending in the book, I think it is much more effective, frightening and heartbreaking.

I'll have to check out the book. I know this has been done as a play. Do you know if the book came first? I may have to do some research on this...

The book came first. The movie followed the play. I would have preferred more of a mix between the two, but definitely the books ending.

Shame - Stars Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan in a character study style film. Deserves its NC-17 rating. Well acted and it was interesting to watch Fassbender's character go from confident, hot guy to pitiable, skeevy guy in less than 2 hours. However, overall I was bored. I didn't expect a fast-paced movie, but this was so slow it felt tedious.

We watched Wanderlust last night and it was pretty bad. There were some funny parts but really, the funniest character in the movie, they barely show. That would be the brothers wife. She was hilarious.

Battle Royale - Japanese film that preceded the Hunger Games books. After watching it, I completely understand the comments saying that the Hunger Games was a rip-off. There are definitely some differences, but the parallels were rather startling. After watching it, I laughingly commented to my teen son that it was over-the-top, had some bad acting, some questionable translation, was melodramatic, and some of it didn't really make sense. He said he was sorry I didn't like it. I responded that it was actually kind of awesome! :lol If you enjoy a B-level foreign film, watch this.

I want to see that!

After having The Debt at home for an embarrassingly long amount of time, I finally watched is yesterday. I don't know why I didn't watch it before. I thought it was very good, but not great. Helen Mirren and Jessica Chastain were fantastic. I did think the casting was a bit off. For instance, there's pretty much NO resemblance between Sam Worthington and Ciaran Hinds, so I didn't buy them playing the same character. Still, it was well done and I'm glad I FINALLY watched it.

I also watched the very fluffy Chalet Girl starring Felicity Jones and Ed Westwick. Very Hallmark Channel movie-esque about a working class girl who becomes a chalet girl at the vacation home of a wealthy family in the Alps. The son - who, although he was raised in extreme privilege, of course has a heart of gold - is played by Westwick, who is MUCH sexier with his British accent. Not rocket science, but it was cute.

The Grey - I typically don't have much problem "suspending disbelief" for a movie, but this one went WAY to far for me. The acting was fine, but as an Alaskan I just found the overall film absolutely ABSURD!! I did not like it.
