My son and I just finished this movie. We both thought it was really long too. Completely agree that Heath was absolutely fantastic!! So very sad that this was his last work.

I was bored enough last night to pay-per-view The Women with Meg Ryan and Annette Bening. I want those 2 hours of my life back. That was a pretty bad flick, and the acting was pretty rough also. Jada Pinkett Smith was awful in her (fortunately) small part, and I still didn't care for Debra Messing either.

Edited to add - Cloris Leachman was very fun as Meg's housekeeper!

I liked The Women. It wasn't Oscar material, but for a rainy, boring afternoon, it kept me entertained. I didn't like Jada's role either. But I thought Annette Benning was great and I usually don't like her at all.
I wish Cloris had had a bigger part. Bette Midler too.

    I thought it was entertaining.

I started the Dark Knight and just couldn't get into it so didn't finish it.

Get Smart, now there's 2 hours of my life I want back. I LOVED the tv show, but then again, I was 7 years old when it was on.

I am Legend. Yeah, I'm late getting to that one, but I was warned I wouldn't like it. It was actually pretty good except for the dog. I thought Will Smith did a great job in it.

Hubby and I just rented something else recently and I can't remember what. Apparantly not all that memorable.

Mama Mia - Mostly it was fun. However, there were a couple of times when I felt like the only point of the segment was to work a song into the storyline. I wasn't that surprised given that the whole point is really that it is based around Abba songs. I thought that the two actors that played Sophie and Sky (Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper) were very endearding. I also liked that so much of the story was older characters that were still fun and vibrant.

We rented Journey to the center of the earth yesterday. We accidentally watched the 2D version which was lucky because when I later checked out the 3D version I wasn't as impressed. You realize that some parts of the movie were made specifically so that the audience - wearing 3D glasses, of course - would have something to gasp and grasp at. All in all, worth a viewing and it did make my daughter say that she wants to read Jules Verne now which is always a bonus.

We watched Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian last night and it was so good.. I fell asleep. My daughter was bored out of her mind, my husband was the only one who finished it and he said it was o.k.

I have two I really enjoyed among the many I rent each month.

    1. Citizen X: This is based on a true story about a Russian serial killer who was at large for many years and who killed more than 50 people. It takes place during the Soviet administration and stars Stephen Rea as a low level forensic expert who is put in charge of the case. His dedication to it is thwarted by the Soviet regime's insistance on a politically correct, for them, solution and their efforts to obstruct the real investigation.

Rea's performance is outstanding and he is supported by Donald Sutherland, Max Von Sydow, Jeffrey DeMunn, and Imelda Staunton, among others. Well worth the watch.

    2. The Walker I've never been much of a Woody Harrelson fan, but I rented this one because the story seemed interesting and because of the rest of the cast. Woody Harrelson plays completely again type as a sophisticated, openly gay man who escorts Washinton, DC society women to events when their husbands can't or won't. His performance in the role was wonderful, the best work I've ever seen him do. The rest of the cast includes Lauren Bacall, Lily Tomlin, Kriten Scott Thomas, Willem Dafoe, Ned Beatty, Moritz Bleibtreu, among others.

Wanted - It was ok. I liked the story. My son says the comic is much better

X-Files - Everyone was right. It was just like another episode but much longer.

Hancock - Cute story. I didn't like the answer they gave as to why he was a super-guy though.
    Yup, with donuts!!

The Women: It was ok. Nothing special.
Mamma Mia: Agree with the thought that the purpose of some scenes was purely for songs. It wasn't a fave movie for sure.
Pulse 3: It wasn't even a bad movie.... it was just.. what?!
