I watched it a couple of weeks ago. It's like "The Others" with subtitles (don't worry, I'm not really giving anything away here). It's pretty intense in some parts, but not gory. I liked it.
One of these days I'll stop being sensitive. Until then, I'll continue to be devastated on a daily basis. Life breaks my heart.

I liked The Orphanage. My son even got into it and he hates movies that he has to read!

Re: Last Movies You Have Rented

On Monday, I watched this really low-budget movie on On Demand called "Christmas Evil" (Also known as "You Better Watch Out"). And when I say really low-budget, I mean REALLY low-budget! I thought with the word "Evil" in it, there would be all kinds of gore and murders. The movie opens on the main character when he is approx 5 years old on Christmas Eve. While his older brother sleeps, the main character sneaks downstairs and sees his mother getting a little too cozy with what he thinks is really Santa. It warps him forever and 30 years later, he starts watching everyone in the neighborhood and making his own "naughty and nice" list. There are only 2 murder scenes in the entire 2 hour flick and the ending was just about the lamest ending I've ever seen in any movie EVER! Yes, I could've turned it off, but it's like a bad car accident. You want to look away but you just can't. I was like "I want to turn this off...but maybe it'll get better." Worst horror movie I've ever seen. Even worse than that horrible 1980 version of Boogeyman! I hope they will consider remaking this movie for today because there's so much they can do with today's technology that will certainly make this movie watchable and enjoyable. Okay rant over on that one.
Yesterday, I watched Elf: This was the first time I watched this movie and I loved it. I'm only sorry I hadn't seen it sooner. I underestimated the comedy of this movie. I loved Wil Ferril and his chemistry with Zooey D. (I don't remember how to spell her last name) was fantastic. Definitely going into my collection.
Right now I am watching Amityville Curse: So far, I really like it. Nothing gory yet but there really wasn't anything really gory in the original Amityville, either. I'll come back later and give my full opinion on it when it's over.
Hurley: (holding up a Jesus statue) I don't know. I thought there might be a prowler or something.
Mrs. Reyes: (grabbing the statue) Jesus Christ is not a weapon! - LOST "There's No Place Like Home Pt. 1

Just got finished with the Amityville Curse and I really loved it. Very well filmed.
Now watching The People Under the Stairs for the first time.

I watched The Incredible Hulk last night. The new one this time, with Edward Norton. I liked Ed Norton and Liv Tyler. Overall though, it was just okay. For some reason I just wasn't drawn in. I noticed the references at the beginning to Stark Industries because we just watched Iron Man a couple of weeks ago, so I thought the appearance of Robert Downey Jr at the end of the movie was cool.

Yes, I love FearNet. Some of the movies on there are excellent.
I just finished The People Under The Stairs and I liked it. It wasn't what I expected at all. Last week I watched THe Frighteners and I really liked that too.

Tropic Thunder: Aaag it wasn't good. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good, in my opinion. Although I have to say, that's how I picture Tom Cruise everyday!

Hubby and I were kind of anticipating a much funnier movie, but it was just....okay. Yeah, there were funny parts, but mostly sight gag things. The only time I really laughed out loud is when Stiller's character held up the head of the director and started digging stuff out of it claiming it was all props and syrup, etc. When he drop kicked it was when I inadvertently laughed.

Tom Cruise was actually pretty good in his unbilled part and I don't even like his acting that much. Robert Downey Jr. was great and Jack Black was hysterical to my teenage stepkids. All in all, a fairly entertaining movie.
I enjoy the escapism of reality television. Beats the heck out of worrying about your REAL life!!
