I watched Miracle over the weekend. It is by far one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I suggest to anyone that has not seen it yet to rent it. I will be purchasing the DVD in the near future.

I liked Miracle, too. Kurt Russell should have won an Oscar for it.
I finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11. Moore didn't prove his thesis that we went to war for oil and business interests, but he did show how lame the mainstream media's war coverage has been.

I watched Read My Lips again this weekend. Loved it. Again.

Vincent Cassel and Emmanuelle Devos do a great job in this thriller. It's not action packed, but it's character driven and that's what gives it feeling.

Oh I love Vincent Cassel, Zhora, and I haven't seen that yet. I will definitely check it out!

I hope you like it. It's not often I can get my boyfriend to watch a foreign language film with me, but he watched this one yesterday. He "liked it OK", but he said he "kept waiting for something to happen", so he finally had to admit that it was "pretty suspenseful". Oh well. Ya can't win 'em all.

I didn't get to see Read My Lips yet, but we did rent Secret Things, a sort of French Eyes Wide Shut meets The Company of Men. Do NOT rent of you have problems with nudity, graphic depictions o' "relations", discussions of gender and power, or the odd, overwrought artsy-fartsy symbol. I liked it though.

Then again, I also liked The Girl Next Door. But c'mon who doesn't love a porn star?

Are we dating the same guy? Mine won't watch anything with subtitles, comedies, documentaries, chick flicks or indie movies. That leaves us with action movies (blech) and suspense films. That's it.

I loved Miracle and have purchased it. It was like reliving the actual event for me.

I have an Blockbuster online pass and usually rent between 15 and 20 movies per month. I know it's strange but I prefer watching films on a large screen TV at home. There's no audience noise, which I consider to be an actionable offense, and the volume isn't too loud at home.

This week I watched 3 that I enjoyed:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Akhaban.
The Terminal
Bobby Jones: A Stroke of Genius

All three were well worth my watching time.

We watched Raising Helen last night. It was cute. Not as good as I expected, but I didn't mind it. (of course hubby couldn't sit through the whole thing)

Florimel, it is not strange to prefer watching movies at home. I rather doing that too. I haven't been to the theater since What Women Want. I like the fact that I can pause it if I need to.

Mmm, I also like that I can watch it more than once, or rewatch certain scenes. Plus the fact that what I pay for my unlimited rentals membership per month would get me maybe two or at most three trips to the theater.
