    I love action/horror movies like this one. It's a curse, I know.
I'm going to try to check it out this weekend.

Pretty good movie. This one has to be seen on the big screen, it won't look as good on TV.

The only thing that irked me was that throughout the beginning of the movie there is this BIG mystery of VanHelsing's past. Little bits and pieces are dropped about him. When they finally do come to find out who he really is, they cover it so fast and fleeting, I almost missed it! I know they had to get back to the action, but just a few minutes of down-time of his learning of his past would have been much more palatable.

I'm a big David Wenham fan and he was great as the friar as a comic relief. Goes to show that even though he is a LOTR alum, he's not snobbish in taking roles that have him being a bit whacky and silly.

Saw the movie this weekend & loved it! It was awesome, great special effects & good comic relief too I thought the cast was excellent & I hope there will be sequels.

As for Van Helsing's past, me & hubby speculated abit and guessed that could they possibly be planning a PREQUEL to Van Helsing where they explain his past?
Perhaps they dropped all the hints to make us curious enough & assure that we'll be there for the next one :-)

Great movie though... definitely DVD worthy!

Saw Van Helsing over the weekend too. It was entertaining, great special effects, but dare I say too much special effects? Of course, CGI is all the rave and there were a lot, but there were moments where creative cinematography started to get dizzy during the chase scenes. But if you are into the thrills, which you would have to be to be watching this movie, it would be best to see in the theater on the big screen for full effect.

As much as I love Hugh Jackman and David Wenham I actually thought the film was pretty bad. The special effects were great and Hugh is always good to look but overall not a great film. Way too long and several bits that really could have been cut. I left the theatre a bit disappointed.
