    From Hollywood.com

Synopsis: An enigmatic tale centering around four people whose lives are intertwined by destiny, and whose lives have been similarly subject to the laws of fate. There is Tomas, a young thief and the sole survivor of a horrific plane crash; Federico, who survived a massive earthquake and discovered he has the power to rob those around him of their good fortune with a touch; Sam, a casino owner who is the ultimate survivor after losing everything--save his own life--in the terrible conflagration that enveloped Europe during World War II; and Sara, a policewoman who walked away from a car crash that killed her entire family, and who becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind a clandestine gambling ring where death and luck intermingle.

    Eusebio Poncela - Federico
    Monica Lopez - Sara

I can't figure out if I like this movie or not. It's got a very interesting plot line, but if it's not done exactly right, it's gonna be stupid.

And I apologize, but I thought Max von Sydow was long gone. I mean, he was an old guy in Flash Gordon...

Max Von Sydov as born old I think.
I saw him play Jesus once and he looked like he needed a miracle.

These "woven" tales can make for incredibly interesting movies, but they can also make for a huge muddle.
I agree John, handled well this could be a very interesting movie.

I don't know who Max Von Sydov is but that line that "he needed a miracle" had me laughing.

I also think the story sounds interesting, but not sure if it would be good on film.
