    Synopsis: An enigmatic tale centering around four people whose lives are intertwined by destiny, and whose lives have been similarly subject to the laws of fate. They discover that luck is something they cannot afford to be without, as they gamble with the highest stakes possible in a deadly game from which only one of them will emerge intact. There is Tomas, a young thief and the sole survivor of a horrific plane crash; Federico, who survived a massive earthquake and discovered he has the power to rob those around him of their good fortune with a touch; Sam, a casino owner who is the ultimate survivor after losing everything--save his own life--in the terrible conflagration that enveloped Europe during World War II; and Sara, a policewoman who walked away from a car crash that killed her entire family, and who becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind a clandestine gambling ring where death and luck intermingle.

    I can't figure out if I like this movie or not. It's got a very interesting plot line, but if it's not done exactly right, it's gonna be stupid.

    And I apologize, but I thought Max von Sydow was long gone. I mean, he was an old guy in Flash Gordon...

    Max Von Sydov as born old I think.
    I saw him play Jesus once and he looked like he needed a miracle.

    These "woven" tales can make for incredibly interesting movies, but they can also make for a huge muddle.
    I agree John, handled well this could be a very interesting movie.

    I don't know who Max Von Sydov is but that line that "he needed a miracle" had me laughing.

    I also think the story sounds interesting, but not sure if it would be good on film.
