| My first experience with book to movie was Stephen King's Pet Semetary. I read the book in highschool and couldn't wait when I heard they were making it into a movie. BIG DISSAPOINTMENT!!! My mother tried to warn me (she had the same experience with The Shining).

| Speaking of Stephen King... I didn't really like the TV version of The Stand. When you know a book inside and out like that, it's hard to adjust to the discrepencies.

| I didn't like the movie or the book. The Stand was one of King's worst books ever.

| I've never been a big Stephen King fan. I only liked "It" or "The Green Mile." I can't think of anything else by him I liked. However, in thinking about it, I think I've only seen most of the movies and not read many of the books, so that might be why... |

| The Queen of the Damned. The movie did not resemble anything from the book. It centered heavily on a romance between Lestat and Jesse, and in the book that didn't happen at all. Maharet's role was shrunk, and Mekare wasn't mentioned at all. There were also too many cliched lines. The effects were great, but the acting stunk. I think that the movie would have been better if it was just an original movie, not an adaptation--because it isn't one.

| The most recent version of The Time Machine. I wanted to slap everyone involved, including the usually-brilliant Guy Pearce and Jeremy Irons. What were they THINKING!!?? |

| The Hotel New Hampshire was one of my favorite books, and I was so excited about the movie because it had a pretty good cast. Alas, I was SORELY disappointed. I think they missed the point entirely. For the other Moulin Rouge lovers - have you seen the DVD? It has great "extra features"! And lots of interesting "Easter eggs". |

| The 1940 version of Pride and Prejudice. Heck, they even changed the time period in the film. The A&E version was terrific, though. ![]() |
