Catch Me If You Can - Released 12/25

    From Yahoo! Movies: Here

Frank Abagnale, Jr. (DiCaprio) worked as a doctor, a lawyer and as a co-pilot for a major airline - all before his 18th birthday. A master of deception, he was also a brilliant forger whose skill gave him his first real claim to fame. At the age of 17, Frank became the most successful bank robber in the history of the United States. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty (Hanks) had made it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank is always one step ahead of him, baiting him to continue the chase.

I've seen the previews for this about a million times, and even though I don't like DCaprio, I'm a HUGE Tom Hanks fan, so I'll probably see this.

I had not heard that this movie was in production, and I'm unfamiliar with the story it's based on, but it sure sounds promising. Spielberg's last film, Minority Report, had definite strengths, as well as some definite weaknesses, in my opinion, but it sure displayed his gift for kinetic action and suspense, which has always been one of his strong suits (going back to "Duel," which is a brilliant made-for-TV thriller Spielberg directed in the 70's. If you've never seen it, rent it!).
Anyway, this latest one looks like it could be a winner!

I agree - I've seen the previews and this looks like it will be an enjoyable film. Of course, I'm probably going to have to wait for video. Saying "Honey, I'm going to the movies - have fun watching the newborn" probably isn't going to cut it.

Good point, FG. If only I can have more success persuading Mrs. Wayner of that than I did with our first baby!
