Trust me, you are not missing anything.

Yet, the movie was nominated for four Oscars, and Cage won his oscar for Best Actor in that movie.

It kind of was in the beginning of the trend where you had to be terminally ill, addicted, or mentally unstable in a role to win the Best Actor.

Right! I read about that trend somewhere else a while ago. I always hated those movies! Which reminds me of another major let down to add to the list, imo:

I actually kind of liked Leaving Las Vegas. It's not the kind of movie I would necesarily want to watch more than once, but I enjoyed it the first time. OK, maybe enjoyed is the wrong word. "Liked" works better. I don't really see why Nick got an oscar though.
Iím haunted a little this evening by feelings that have no vocabulary and events that should be explained in dimensions of lint rather than words.

I agree. This movie sucked so bad, I felt like I wasted the entire movie going huh? And the ending, WTF was that? This movie sucked as hard as MI 2.

Another one to add to my s*tlist - Aritificial Intelligence. What a waste of my time!!!! This was my fault by expecting big things from Spielberg. I have a feeling that his upcoming movie "Catch me if you can" with Leonardo Dicaprio is another hit or miss.

I have a feeling anything with Leo is not going to be top notch. :rolleyes

I hate anything from the Star Trek franchise. The show, the movies: Insurrection, Nemesis, whatever they're all called,

Can I just add that even though I enjoyed Titanic, I certainly did not think that Leo was astounding in it?

I think I cheered when he died.
If you go through a lot of hammers each month, I don't think it necessarily means you're a hard worker.
It may just mean that you have a lot to learn about proper hammer maintenance.
