Equilibrium - release date 12/06
Synopsis: In the nation of Libria, there is always peace among men. The rules of the Librian system are simple. If you are happy, you will be arrested. If you cry, the law will hunt you down. If you read a contraband book or so much as look at a smuggled painting, you've committed a crime. To keep the peace, citizens must take their daily doses Prozium, a powerful designer drug that stops feelings dead and keeps everyone on an even keel. Refuse to take the drug and special police will find you. Up until now, top-ranking goverment official John Preston has believed in this system, has upheld the system as a highly-trained "Cleric" who seeks out and destroys those who don't take their pills. But then he skips his own dose of Prozium--and discovers an incredible new world of sensation that gives him the passion to fight for freedom.

Yoffy lifts a finger...
Christian Bale, Taye Diggs, Sean Bean.
Says it all.
I will be all over this one.
Fluff, this is the movie that I had seen Christian Bale starring in but couldn't think of the title. The previews had a lot of matrix-style action. There were a few reviews about this movie that weren't that great. But I don't care. Being that it's a sci-fi action flick, I'm definitely going to watch it. If it sucks, it sucks!
The race is back!
Not interested in this movie, but the cast is very good.
Yoffy lifts a finger...
Ugh, I hate sci-fi, but I'm a total Balehead so I ahve to see this.
Now watch it not be on at my theatre.
It's The Matrix meets A Brave New World. Sounds like a winner to me !
So where can I get some of those pills?
Well, I went to watch this movie this weekend. It had alot of senseless killing, though. This was a very low-budget similiar to "Matrix and Minority Report" movie. Christian had some pretty cool fierce fighting skills. Fluff, I think I'm becoming a Balehead, too.
I really like it because it had a lot of fast and furious action, as well, as some thought-provoking aspects. The movie is not original since it took some of the ideas from Matrix and Minority Report, but it was okay. If you're not a fan of sci-fi or action films, your best bet is to wait for the rental.
It wasy playing only in a few theatres here in Dallas, so I'm sure it will go to rental pretty soon.
Oh, and here's a picture of Christian as Cleric Preston. Purrrrrr!!!
