| LSS, I agree that ROTK is the front-runner for Best Picture. However, I think a ROTK win will be the Academy's way of paying tribute to the whole trilogy and not necessarily to ROTK. ![]() | |

| That would be OK by me, lobeck. They deserve the recognition. The three films taken together are one of the most amazing events of movie making history. -Randy |

![]() So glad to see Peter Jackson get the nod! He really deserves the award for his hard work, but he had some tough competition for this year: Mystic River-Clint Eastwood Lost in Translation-Sofia Coppolla And I also agree that the award is truly for all 3 films, and the way he accepted the award he accepted it for all 3 as well!

| I see Jackson getting Best Director, however, I do NOT see ROTK earning best picture honors this year. This year's race is definitely close and I predict some unexpected decisions. Not upsets, but definitely nothing predicted. In fact, the only categories to have shoe-ins is Best Actor and Best Actress with Sean Penn and Charlize Theron taking the prizes. |

| I don't even know that Sean Peen is such a shoo-in this year. Bill Murray has won a number of awards for "Lost In Translation"... ![]() (Though I would still give the edge to Penn...) | |

| The race (Best Picture) was over when the BFCA and PGA were announced. This just solidified it. |
