Mission to Mars was weird/stupid. One second they are at a BBQ the next they are stepping onto Mars. I wanted to slap everyone in that movie and get 10x's my money back.

How about something like "The Naked Lunch". Cronenberg tries to film something that's pretty much unfilmable...a William S. Burroughs book.
No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

Solaris is the weirdest movie I've seen lately (I'm talking about the remake, but I'm sure the original is weird too, just longer and in Russian). I love sci-fi, but that movie really confused me.

I liked Solaris a lot. My wife went to sleep while watching it.

The Naked Lunch has a "running bit, for instance, about typewriters coming to life as weird orgasmic insect-creatures who get sexually aroused when written well on."

    That qualifies as weird.

I didn't say I didn't like it, I just said it confused me. It's the kind of movie you need to see with a friend who you can sit and talk with afterwards and try to figure out what went on.

hmmm...I didn't say you said you didn't like it.

    I think.

I was just commenting on the fact that I liked it and my wife hated it. Nothing more.

I agree with you on Eraserhead, but it is the only David Lynch movie I ever liked - oh, take that back, I liked the one with the old guy who rode across Iowa on his lawnmower (not typical Lynch).
