There's an article about it on USA Today's website. It does sound intense. Apparently, it was written by Nikki Reed (one of the stars) when she herself was 13.

I think that's what the article said, anyway.
When you're ten years old and a car drives by and splashes a puddle of water all over you, it's hard to decide if you should go to school like that or try to go home and change and probably be late. So while he was trying to decide, I drove by and splashed him again. - Jack Handey

It was cowritten by the director, Catherine Hardwicke, and one of the stars, Nikki Reed. Reed was only 13 at the time the screenplay was written. I wonder if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I've been reading a few articles on it, and it's supposed to be extremely riveting - good material in a no-nonsense delivery. Not for everyone, I'm sure.

I saw a trailer for this, and I thought it looked really good. I think it's only playing in select theters though.

Ok, I just saw this. The story itself is rather disturbing, but Evan Rachel Wood is phenomenal in it.
